Foundation & Pilling Equipment: VIBROHAMMERS (Functional Principle)
The Vibrohammer
vibrates the
profiles, sheet
pile or casing
to be driven or
extracted in
vertical
vibrations. This
in turn causes
the adjacent
ground to shift.
The ground is
loosened, which
leads to the
pile being
driven into the
ground by its
own and the
Vibrohammer's
weight. It can
be extracted by
the same
principle via
the pulling
force of the
carrier (crane)
in use.
Applications
These plants are
ideal for a
large variety of
construction
projects of
bridges,
flyovers, Ports
and jetties, and
embankments,
diaphragm walls
and
constructions on
sandy or clayey
soils, and find
applications in
the following:
Driving
and
extraction
of casings
for
permanent /
temporary
piles
Driving
& extraction
of sheet
piles for
cofferdams,
embankments,
etc.
Driving
& extraction
of profiles
for support
piles,
structures,
ground
compaction
Water
tight
curtain wall
for
diaphragm
walls/embankments,
etc.
Vibrohammers Selection
Vibrohammers
selection is
made on the
basis of certain
values &
parameters like
Cross
section of
the pile
Ram
profile
weight
Penetration
Soil
layer
consistency
Porosity
of soil.
Types of Vibrohammers
Vibrohammers are
ideal for
driving and
extraction of
casings, sheet
piles and
profiles (like
H-beams,
I-sections,
etc). The
Vibrohammers are
available in
wide selection
depending on the
application,
power
requirement,
eccentric
movement, etc
and are
available in the
following types:
Standard
Vibrohammers or
H-Series
HF & HFV
Series or
City
Vibrohammers
PH and
PHFV series
or Hydraulic
Excavator
mounted
Vibrohammers
HT
(Tandem) -
Series or
Ring
Vibrohammers
Vibrohammer Powerpacks
PTC offers the
users power
packs with
hydraulic
outputs between
80-1800 HP
covering the
needs of the
total range of
PTC Vibrohammers.
These are
designed &
produced at PTC
factory in the
suburbs of Paris
and use
Caterpillar or
Volvo diesel
engines.
The clamping
head is attached
below the
vibrohammer and
firmly clamps
the pile or
casing to be
driven or
extracted. They
are designed to
European
standards, which
require a
clamping force
of 1.2 times the
maximum
centrifugal
force.
There are
four types of
clamping heads:
Agriplex
for single
sheet pile
or profile
to be
clamped
Multiplex
Clamp for
double sheet
pile
applications
